Accommodation units at Moorilla Estate Winery
Refer to Publications Page for a review of the project
Just north of the recently completed open stage, four new accommodation units at Moorilla Estate Winery will crouch and face the Derwent River. The new boutique freestanding accommodation units have been designed by Melbourne architects The Antarctica Group with Nonda Katsalidis and include 2 two bedroom units and 2 one bedroom units.
The schemes collection of bold geometries radiate out from the existing car park all delicately placed between finger like mesh threads that carefully retain earth as well as acting as privacy vegetation screens. The first three units will be a combination of concrete, steel, glass and zinc and will appear to sit in the landscape like crouching dogs!. The fourth unit that was conceived as a white lighthouse that looks out across the Derwent River.
The architecture will deliver an accommodation experience like no other in Australia; with all the units offering high-end boutique fittings and fixtures along with finishes expected in today’s demanding accommodation market. The big difference with the new Moorilla accommodation units is that the units will come with an exterior personality along with the interior excitement
