This addition is hidden behind a street facade of victorian workers cottages. The laneway behind the street sits in a different century. The design inhabits modern Newtown rather than its immediate heritage-zoned surrounds. The rear facade was generated in part by the clients’ stories. Without divulging too much, the facade has connections to the Redheads matchbox design, and the Seventies Made In New Zealand logo. Our involvement reduced at DA approval.
